Job summary
An opportunity has arisen at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital for an experienced support secretary or for a person looking for development as a Support Medical Secretary to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate would support a team of Medical Secretaries covering various specialities within the community hospital.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will also have the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively and have a willingness to learn.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will develop/have a broad range of administrative skills and in particular:
- Typing ability or qualification/experience - audio typing training available
- Standard level of IT literacy
- NVQ level II Customer Service or equivalent knowledge and skills
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of secretarial or administrative procedures
- Good communication & relationship skills are essential both face to face and via telephone
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Digital Dictation and Meditech would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
