Main duties of the job
- To perform x-ray examinations in all areas of the x-ray department to provide diagnostic images relevant to the x-ray request.
- To utilise specialist knowledge in CT.
- To provide out of hours shift/on call cover on a rota basis working unsupervised
- To maintain and promote high professional standards to provide a high quality, efficient and effective diagnostic radiography service.
- To provide supervisory expertise as required in relevant areas of the department e.g. on out of hours shifts, supervision of assistant practitioners, junior radiographers and radiographic assistants.
- Responsible for maintaining IR(ME)R compliance, interpret protocols and assess the justification of radiographic request to protocol.
