Main duties of the job

  • To perform x-ray examinations in all areas of the x-ray department to provide diagnostic images relevant to the x-ray request.
  • To utilise specialist knowledge in CT.
  • To provide out of hours shift/on call cover on a rota basis working unsupervised
  • To maintain and promote high professional standards to provide a high quality, efficient and effective diagnostic radiography service.
  • To provide supervisory expertise as required in relevant areas of the department e.g. on out of hours shifts, supervision of assistant practitioners, junior radiographers and radiographic assistants.
  • Responsible for maintaining IR(ME)R compliance, interpret protocols and assess the justification of radiographic request to protocol.
