Practitioners registered with any of the regulatory bodies stated above, who hold the relevant qualifications, meet the application criteria and are highly motivated, flexible and experienced with a demonstrable passion for clinical practice are invited to apply.

In order to apply for a trainee post, you will need considerable post registration experience (5 years minimum to allow access to the academic program), together with evidence of leadership skills / experience, regular CPD, current regular attendance and be able to complete training within 5 years of commencing your program.

Applicants who do not hold a first level degree may apply but will need to evidence the ability to study at Level 7 (Masters) through recent successful completion of a minimum of 40 level 6 credits or equivalent modules.

In addition, in order to access the apprenticeship, you will need to be able to evidence level 2 Maths and English or above either with GCSE certificate or completion of a Functional SkillsLevel 2course.

Main duties of the job

Advanced Clinical Practice is well established at UHDB and is seen as integral to the delivery of high quality and safe patient care across the Trust. You could be joining an extremely progressive team which continues to develop to meet the needs of our patients.

Posts are available within

  • Specialist Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Acute medicine
  • Hospital out of hours
  • DME
  • Oncology

Training will involve supporting you to become an advanced, skilled, generic practitioner with transferable skills and as such you will be required to be flexible to meet the needs of service. All training posts will include rotation to enable you to develop your skills. Trained ACPs will also have the opportunity to discuss rotations within role.

As the Trust strives to provide standardised care to all patients admitted across a seven-day period, you will be required to be available to work a full pattern of shifts including weekends and nights. Cross site working is established within our ACP team and therefore you should be willing to work across both the RDH and QHB sites.

Shift patterns will vary dependent upon area of practice at any given time as care is centred on the service requirements.
