Job summary
- The post holder will contribute to improving the quality of working life by the effective provision of specialist clinical support within a comprehensive Occupational Health service and promoting the health, safety and wellbeing of employees in line with the organisations' objectives.
- To develop and deliver specialist occupational advice care for all disciplines and grades of staff where necessary, providing specialist information and support to ensuring consistent best practice to prevent work related ill health, and promote good health.
- Work autonomously by managing and prioritising the occupational health care of individuals and groups according to needs and risk assessments.
Main duties of the job
- To participate in identifying and maintaining a safe working environment and preventing ill health that may be associated with work.
- To promote and maintain a systematic, holistic approach to occupational health and wellbeing provision, its implementation and evaluation.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues and groups on complex and potentially stressful topics in a range of situations
- To provide assess and address service-users (colleagues') health and wellbeing needs when those needs are complex and change across the caseload providing support and advice to colleagues and their managers
- To contribute to an atmosphere conducive to learning, audit and the use of research based/best practice guidelines
- Promote people's equality, diversity and rights
- Work flexibly across the region to meet service demands
