Job summary
Based at Queens Hospital in Burton, we are appointing a senior clinical fellow (ST4 level) within our Stroke team. This will be a full-time, fixed-term service appointment for 1 year fixed term with a possibility of extension. Applications for less than full-time working patterns are welcome.
You will be based within the Department of Stroke Medicine and work with consultants, advanced care practitioners (ACPs), Therapists and Discharge Support Officers to deliver a responsive service to medical patients throughout the hospital. Your speciality team will give you consistent support and further learning opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The post can be tailored to individual requirements but centres upon the provision of care to the Stroke Medicine/General Medicine teams. There is scope to access opportunities that enable you to fulfil the 'alternative certificate' required for stage 2 training (critical care training opportunities are not available)
One day per week (on average) can be spent performing QIP/teaching/attending clinics etc. The postholder will do at least one Stroke clinic a week. The department runs a number of specialist clinics such as TIA clinics which the postholder may be able to attend depending on their training needs.
