Job summary

We currently have a chemotherapy Band 5 nurse post available across both Queens Hospital Burton and Royal Derby Hospital. Please state on your application form which site you would prefer.

This year, our Cancer Business Unit has undergone significant investment to support the next stage of the workforce plan. These roles are part of a number of new roles the Trust are recruiting to in order to deliver outstanding care to our cancer patients and shape the future of our Cancer Services.

Would you like to become a highly skilled Chemotherapy Nurse? With no nights or weekend working? If so, you will be on the path of career-long learning that offers great challenges, rewards and professional growth within our Combined Day Unit (CDU).

The role is responsible and accountable for the delivery of high quality, effective, and compassionate nursing care. This will be in line with local, Trust wide and national policies, procedures, values and behaviours.

Main duties of the job

You will be a compassionate and highly motivated Nurse with a drive to support the Nursing Team to improve the Outpatient experience and be part of the ever evolving and exciting speciality of cancer care.

The Combined Day Unit has gone through significant positive change with further exciting changes to come. This is a busy unit which delivers systemic anti-cancer treatments for Haematology and Oncology patients, supportive therapies and blood product administration.

We currently have an opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our innovative and forward thinking team. If you have the drive, enthusiasm and compassion to develop your skills and knowledge, then we could be exactly what you are looking for.

Experience within either speciality is preferable but not essential, as support and guidance will be provided.

Closing date of applications: 28 June 2023

Interview date: 12 July 2023
