An exciting opportunity has arisen for three substantive Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join our friendly, enthusiastic Emergency Department team at University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB), based at the Royal Derby Hospital site.
These are new substantive posts and any candidate who wishes to work less than full time will be considered and supported, taking into account service needs.
The RDH Emergency Department currently operates over three areas - Red Adult ED, Green Adult ED and a Blue Urgent Treatment Centre to provide excellent care for the patients in our community.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the care & treatment of patients in your charge & personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to, & training of your staff.
- Responsible for maintaining awareness of professional guidelines & acting in accordance with them.
- Responsible for the professional supervision, training & management of junior medical staff, carrying out teaching, examination & accreditation duties as required & contributing to postgraduate & continuing medical education activity locally, regionally & nationally as appropriate.
- Provision of an out of hours' service with your Consultant colleagues including on-call rota commitments, as indicated in the enclosed job plan.
