We are currently developing a new rheumatology clinical offer, which reflects the changing needs of our patients and will deliver the care that really makes a difference to our local communities. And we want you to help us shape and deliver it.
We are looking for a full-time (10 PA) Specialty Doctor in Rheumatology at University Hospitals Derby & Burton FT.

We are looking for a strong commitment from the appointee to the Department and involvement with education and research activities is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team and will be required to contribute to the ongoing development of the Rheumatology Department at University Hospitals Derby and Burton FT.
Main duties of the job
Provision with consultant of a service to Staffordshire, Derbyshire & surrounding areas with responsibility for diagnosis & treatment of patients at the hospitals & clinics at which you have duties.
Responsible for the continuing care & treatment of patients in your charge & personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to & training of your staff.
Active participation in undergraduate & post graduate education, including training sessions for Foundation Years and medical students.
Participate in clinical audit under local arrangements.
Commitment to taking part in annual appraisal process which will be undertaken by the trust appointed appraiser.

- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice at date of commencement
Desirable
- MRCP or equivalent higher medical / scientific degree relevant to the specialty
Clinical Experience
Essential
- 4 years Postgraduate experience in medicine
- 2 years Postgraduate experience within Rheumatology or similar specialty
- Experience in rheumatology at junior doctor level
- Experience in acute medicine
Desirable
- Experience in rheumatology at registrar level
