Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity within our Specialist Medicine Therapy Team for a Band 3 Generic Therapy Assistant predominantly working on our Diabetology and Endocrinology ward, although you may be required to cross cover across all of our wards.
Recent experience in a health or care setting and the moving and handling of patients is essential. If you are a motivated, organised individual with a desire and passion to help with patients recovery and rehabilitation then we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the Specialist Medicine Therapy team to help provide high quality assessment and treatment plans under the supervision of qualified Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff. You will undertake a variety of tasks assisting in the treatment of patients activities of daily living, functional tasks and mobility. You will need to be able to motivate and encourage patients to help them achieve their rehab potential.
There will be a number of non-clinical duties such as clerical or housekeeping tasks which aids the efficient running of the department. You will have health or care experience and previous experience working as a Therapy Assistant.
You must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, working as part of the multidisciplinary team and with patients who often have complex social and medical issues.
