Apprentice Maintenance Electrician / Multiskilled Craftsperson

Job summary

Our University Hospitals of Derby & Burton Estates department has two exciting apprentice vacancies, working towards the Level 3 Installation Electrician/ Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship. These posts will be based at our Queen's Hospital Burton upon Trent. These will report to the Senior Estates Officer, with the intention to progress into permanent Electrician roles within the organisation.

Main duties of the job

Under supervision, and as part of a team, you will be expected to provide a flexible and efficient repair and maintenance service over a wide range of services, mechanical plant and equipment within a wide range of locations and complex conditions from Wards and Theatres to manufacturing areas and office locations. Your training will ensure that, upon completion, you are able to take responsibility and ownership for statutory inspections under a delegated area and keep records ensuring the trust complies with current legislation.

You should also possess good interpersonal and communication skills including IT and both written and verbal.

You will ultimately be required to work shifts, possess a clean driving licence, have the use of your own vehicle and live within a 40 minute travelling radius of the Hospital.
