Job summary
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified HCPC registered individual to take on a new role within the Derbyshire Pathology team at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital site. In this role you will provide management and leadership to the Support Services teams, including Pre-and-Post Analytics, Phlebotomy, Logistics, Reception and Porters.
Applicants for the post will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with and direct a diverse team. You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, with a passion for people and an ability to connect teams together.
The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain and develop high standards of quality and enjoy working as part of a team as well as being able to work alone under their own initiative, with the ability to meet targets.
An understanding of UKAS ISO 15189 standards, staff training, Health & Safety requirements, and pre-and-post analytics technical requirements is essential.
Main duties of the job
As an Health Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist, to lead and supervise the day to day delivery of the support services at the Chesterfield site of Derbyshire Pathology.
To provide advanced Biomedical Science technical support for support services by providing training, advice, technical development, troubleshooting and supervision.
To work closely with a team of supervisors, leaders and managers to ensure a holistic approach to the support services team.
Other elements of the role include Human Resources, budget review, people management, and day-to-day operational activities.
To maintain UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation, ensuring the quality and technical standards are maintained.
