Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 cardiac rehabilitation nurse to join the trust wide community cardiac rehabilitation team.
The post holders base is to be negotiated, however they will be expected to travel across Northumberland and North Tyneside to deliver care. A car driver is therefore essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver cardiac rehabilitation to patients both in their homes and leisure venues. This involves lifestyle education as well as practical exercise sessions. A good understanding of cardiology, procedures and treatments and the effect on individuals quality of life is required to ensure delivery of evidence based high quality care. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to take on new challenges and actively participate in developments within the service. They must have knowledge and skills to participate in audits, collaborate in research projects and provide teaching and support to other staff members.

- Registered Nurse (Adult Branch) Level 1 NMC Professional Register
- Recognised degree (or working towards)
- Teaching certificate.( or willing to work towards)
- Mentorship Qualification or relevant equivalent qualification (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period).
Desirable
- Exercise qualification.
- BACPR health professional course or willing to undertake.
- Heart manual facilitator
- Revascularisation Facilitator
