Job summary
We are looking to appoint a dynamic, self-driven individual to join a well-established successful Innovation, Research and Development department.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, confident and enthusiastic, be able to prioritise and be able to work autonomously. They will support the delivery of a portfolio of clinical trials, managing and co-ordinating their own allocated portfolio under indirect supervision.
They will help to support the day-to-day management of an allocated portfolio of studies. This includes successful recruitment and retention of participants, strict protocol adherence, data collection, and organisation of relevant tests and procedures. They will need to have a good background of general clinical knowledge; to provide research participants with excellent clinical care. The post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable in response to the service needs and work across different clinical specialties as required. The post holder will also be responsible for promoting research within Trust departments and supporting colleagues and local investigators to deliver high quality research activity to support participant care.
The post holder must be willing to apply to the Clinical Trials Practitioner (CTP) registration with the Academy for healthcare Science (AHCS) on meeting the criteria or are already a registered CTP.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be required to work across a diverse range of clinical specialities and be responsive to the changing needs of the service.
- Work with the other members of the research team to support, coordinate and deliver of allocated clinical trials and research undertaken in the Trust, maintaining an accurate account of project status and records as required.
- Work collaboratively within and outside the NHS and develop professional relationships with other relevant organisations including non-commercial bodies and pharmaceutical sponsors.
- Candidates will need to possess effective and clear communication skills
- Knowledge in research design methods, and understanding of analytical processes or willing to learn.
- You will be a team player with the competence to work independently across the trust establishing networks of communication across multiple specialities and support services.
- Accurate data management and reporting of safety findings in accordance to Good clinical practice (GCP).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- The post holder will support the the team in the implementation of trust policies and procedures, ensuring research undertaken within the trust safeguards the well being of the patients and is conducted within Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
