Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operational Services Manager to lead the Northumbria Sexual Health Service. The service works across sites between Northumberland and North Tyneside and we provide a 3 tier Sexual Health Service to both Local Authority areas.
The service is based at Blyth One to One Centre at Blyth Hospital site and the North Tyneside General Hospital. We also hold outreach clinics at various locations Countywide. The service provides clinic based care and digital online services to patients requiring support with maintaining their sexual health including all forms of contraception, STI screening, treatment and psychosexual therapy as well as health promotion to the local population.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with Northumbria Healthcare Trust at senior management level within the new model of integrated sexual health service, to ensure continual service development, overseeing service provision, driving innovation and raising the profile locally, regionally and nationally.
The post holder will act as a key point of contact to ensure prompt responses through initiative, effective communication, leadership and robust change management methodology for sexual health services.
The post holder will lead the development, implementation and coordination of multi-agency sexual health plans.
The post holder will lead on managing new contracts gained within the new public health commissioning arrangements assuring governance for NHCT across sexual health services and contractors.
The post holder will ensure budgetary compliance within allocated resources.
The post holder will mitigate risk by contributing to policy and procedure development, as well as disseminating, interpreting and embedding of organisational protocol.
The post holder will role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.

To drive governance, service development and multi- agency strategies to achieve the public health outcomes for which sexual health services are contracted.
Line manage several highly specialist sexual health teams. Support senior staff within the service to carry out their roles through the provision of professional and specialist clinical leadership.
Plans and organise a broad range of complex activities including staff training, recruitment, appraisal, supervision, grievance, disciplinary and management of sickness absence.
