Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic receptionist to join our theatre administration team at North Tyneside to help deal with day to day enquiries. Someone who has good communication and organisational skills when dealing with all members of the MDT. Supporting the nursing and medical staff on a daily basis. Will be expected to submit audit data and manage own workload within the department. Using several digital platforms to ensure the correct data is collected and updated on a regular basis. Also works alongside teams external to the department to ensure high standards of patient care are delivered.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 in customer care/admin or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • RSA II Typing / Word processing or equivalent
  • ECDL

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Previous administrative experience within a clinical area, or medical records function is essential ie. medical secretary, medical records or clinical department environment

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Experience working within the healthcare environment

Skills and abilities

Desirable

  • Audio typing
  • IT skills in the use of NHS strategy services e.g. Pathology, PAS etc
