Job summary
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual to manage our busy Admin Team as a Lead Team Secretary in Child Health at North Tyneside General Hospital. This will be for a fixed term/secondment contract of 12 months to cover a secondment.
You should be suitably qualified and experienced in secretarial work, as well as having experience of managing and allocating workloads to administrative staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be required to oversee the secretarial, clerical, ward and outpatient clerks working at North Tyneside General Hospital and the Northumbria Hospital at Cramlington.
As part of the role you will be required to plan, allocate and supervise the work of staff under your remit. You will also be required to manage attendance using Health Roster, complete appraisals, undertake return to work interviews and support the clerical team with the help of the Administration Manager. Further expectations of the post holder are included in the job description. You will also provide a comprehensive secretarial service to consultant(s) and their teams.
The post holder must be able to use their own initiative, work under pressure, keep to strict deadlines and have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. You should possess OCR/RSA 3 typewriting or word processing or equivalent experience and knowledge of IT packages and applications.
