Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Team as a Medical Secretary within the Breast Department at Wansbeck General Hospital. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our busy administrative team to provide secretarial support to the Breast Consultants and wider clinical teams.
This post will be full time Monday - Friday.
This post will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital but the post holder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.

Main duties of the job
Responsible to Senior Secretary's.Act up in absence of Lead Secretary for periods of annual leave/short-term sickness absenceProvide comprehensive secretarial service to consultant(s) and their teammanage diaries, arrange/minute meetings, communication with GPs & patientsAdvanced typing & transcription of clinical & non-clinical documents (OCR 3 or equivalent qualification/experience)Support effective utilisation of OP clinic capacitySupport management of all patient journeys including target administration e.g. GP referrals, 18 week RTT, Cancer 2ww, Typed communication to GPsSupport Lead Secretary with induction/training of new staff, sharing knowledge with colleaguesResource management - ordering of supplies & equipment
