Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable and dynamic nursing assistant to join our Pre-Assessment team at Wansbeck General Hospital, to assist and support the Pre-Assessment nurse specialists and consultants within the Pre-Assessment clinics to deliver high standards of direct patient care .
To regularly perform ECG, venepuncture, swabs and observations for patients who are having elective surgery under GA
The post is offered on a permanent, part time 32.5 hours per week basis. This will be predominantly Monday - Friday 08:00 - 15:00. Part time hours will be considered, consisting of 2 posts, one 13 hour post and a 19.5 hour post.
The post is based at Wansbeck, but the successful candidate may be required to work at our other departments in Alnwick, North Tyneside and Hexham Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
- To assist and support the Pre-Assessment nurse specialists and consultants within the Pre-Assessment clinics to deliver high standards of direct patient care
- To regularly perform ECG, venepuncture, swabs and observations for patients who are having elective surgery under GA
- To provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
- To maintain high clinical standards
- To help maintain a clean and safe department environment
