An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our specialist physiotherapy team based in the Jubilee Day Hospital at North Tyneside General Hospital.
The successful post holder of this static part time role will assess and treat a variety of patients with different conditions referred into our Neuro-rehabilitation, Falls and Parkinson's Disease services. This will include patients who require vestibular rehabilitation and supporting our Falls and PD group based exercise programmes.
The patients are predominately seen in the Jubilee Day Hospital but there is an expectation that the successful applicant may see patients at alternative community venues or the patients home when required.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist in elderly care, Neurology and have some respiratory experience. Skills within orthopaedics would be advantages.
The successful applicant must also demonstrate excellent communication skills with both the multidisciplinary team and peers. There must be evidence of continued professional development demonstrating experience to support applications.
Applicants will be expected to participate in our 7-day working rota. It is noted that in the future some posts may not be traditional Monday to Friday as we embrace full 7 day working.
It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.

To assess, diagnose and treat an independent clinical caseload. To work as part of the physiotherapy team under the guidance and support of moreexperienced highly specialist senior physiotherapy staff. To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care through one of the following;
1) a full range of specialist areas including musculo-skeletal, orthopaedics, elderly care, general medicine, respiratory, neurology, paediatrics, surgery and ITU. The rotational element of the role develops individuals specialist skills across a range of therapeutic modalities.

2) a static post within one of the above sub-specialist teams. This role will incorporateinpatient, outpatient and community activity in both primary and secondary care settings and support the development of specialist skills and knowledge.
