Job summary
The Financial Services section is responsible for the many of the core functions of the Finance Department including accounts payable and receivables, cash and banking and the preparation of statutory financial statements and returns.
Due to the internal promotion of the existing postholder a vacancy has arisen for an Accounts Receivable Officer.
As well as assisting with the raising of sales invoices and dealing with queries relating to these invoices a key aspect of the role will be work on credit control.
This involves liaising mainly with other NHS Organisations and Local Authorities as well as some private sector customers. Experience in credit control would be useful but more important are good communication skills and the willingness to get involved in credit control.
The successful applicant will also assist the Receivables Team Manager in liaising with patients and insurance companies over billing and collection of payments for private patient treatments.
Main duties of the job
Ensure invoices and credit notes are processed in accordance with procedures, investigate enquires and queries and provides advice as required.Supports AR Team Leader with month end procedures and Oracle housekeeping tasks.Contacts customers directly to enquire over late or non-payment.
To produce timely and accurate control account reconciliations in accordance with agreed timetables and procedures for review by the Finance Managers. This will include the need to ensure that all necessary journals have been raised and amendments made and recommending options to address discrepancies arising on the reconciliations.To support to the Trust's Treasury Management function, providing necessary support and cover for the cashiers when required.
