Job summary
We have opportunities for jointAcute and Palliative Medicine Trust Doctors, based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) and also providing opportunities for community working in the Palliative Care service.
This is a one year post starting from 7th August 2024 (or potentially earlier) until August 2025.
Where the applicant meets the eligibility criteria for a Specialty Doctor contract they will be paid in line with associated terms and conditions
Main duties of the job
Our posts offer an exciting and unique opportunity for candidates who are interested in a career in Acute or Palliative Medicine or other medical specialities. This will further develop your skills and gain clinical experience together with protected study leave time tailored to your specific needs and offer development in leadership, management, audits and teaching. There will be access to astudy leave budgetand the ability to attend additional training courses both internal and external.
It is envisaged you will gain a portfolio of competences and experiences that will enhance your future career and financial assistance will be given to allow you obtain an extension to yourE-portfolio access.
You will have a designatedEducational Supervisor during your appointment and you may be able to attend the regional Acute Medicine or Palliative Care Regional Teaching.

Essential
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration - please do not apply if you do not have full GMC registration at the point of application
- Completion of two-year Internal Medical (IMT) or Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) training programme or equivalent
- successfully completed MRCP Part 1 examination
Desirable
- valid Advanced Life Support certificate (or ACLS equivalent)
Experience

- paid experience of working as a doctor in UK NHS
Desirable
- evidence of continued professional development related to Acute Medicine
- evidence of continued professional development related to Palliative Medicine
