Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fantastic team of People (HR) professionals based at Seaton Delaval, Whitley Bay in an People (HR) Advisor role. We are seeking a motivated and conscientious individual to work within our fast-paced Operational People (HR) Team.

This role is pivotal in supporting the provision of a high-quality People (HR) service that is focussed on supporting staff across the organisation to achieve outcomes in line with the vision and values of the Trust.

The post will be based at Seaton Delaval, Whitley Bay, however the post holder will be required to work at other sites within the Trust on a regular basis. Ability to meet these travel requirement is therefore essential. Blended/flexible working is supported by the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will be the first point of contact providing advice and support to line managers and employees across a range of employee relations matters, including:

  • Management of attendance;
  • Terms and conditions of employment;
  • Conduct and capability;
  • Grievance;
  • Performance Management;
  • Change Management;
  • Retention and Redeployment;
  • Dignity at Work.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. There will be substantial development and training opportunities available for someone looking to broaden their knowledge and experience within this field.

Degree in Human Resources or HR Knowledge acquired through relevant training and experience working in an HR environment to degree equivalent level

Experience working within an HR environment and supporting managers on a range of employee relations matters

A sound working knowledge of a range of policies and management procedures

It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
