We are looking for a Senior Therapist to join our long-established NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression team in North Tyneside. You will be part of the overall Senior Team and provide clinical leadership within the high intensity element of the service. North Tyneside Talking Therapies is recognised for its high quality therapeutic delivery and our patients experience significant improvements which is demonstrated in our performance outcomes. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to High Intensity Therapists, Clinical Supervisors and Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. If successful, you will be involved in the quality improvement and development of psychological therapy delivery across the NHS Talking Therapies element of the service. This will involve opportunities to improve our clinical delivery, supervision and Continuing Professional Development Programme based on a sound evidence base as well as innovative ideas. You will also maintain your own therapy practice (approximately 0.5 -1 day per week), providing assessment and treatment for people presenting with common mental health problems, within the NHS Talking Therapies framework. The Talking Therapies Senior team is committed to compassionate, inclusive leadership and is a reflective and supportive group of professionals. You would be supported in your role with regular supervision and excellent development opportunities.
You will work closely with the NHS Talking Therapies Clinical Lead to develop innovative positive clinical change, and help the service achieve quality clinical care, meeting the national key performance indicators.

- Educated to degree level and post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with BABCP accreditation with extensive experience of delivering CBT as a therapist and will hold a small caseload of clients.
- Provide CBT supervision to high intensity therapists as a qualified and experienced clinical supervisor.
- Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services and understanding of the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression programme and its position in the mental health system
- Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and potentially challenging behaviour
