Job summary

As part of the central Procurement Service and reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a number of procurement activities across Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management, the Trust and Northumbria Primary Care.

The successful applicant(s) will demonstrate an ability to draw on a strong set of procurement skills, commercial business acumen and specific experience in the delivery of procurement processes, developed over a number of years working in the public sector.

Main duties of the job

A key member of our centralised Procurement Service, this role will cover the delivery of a wide portfolio of procurement requirements with a focus on Clinical Goods and Services including projects of both a capital & revenue nature.

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate experience in undertaking public sector procurement and delivering successful contracts across a range of appropriate procurement processes. In addition, the ability to lead project specific engagement with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to manage individual workload and priorities.

Successful applicants will be proactive and enjoy being challenged by new areas and activities; they will also possess excellent communication and team working skills.

NHFM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Established in 2012, NHFM provide specialist project management services for large and small capital developments, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services. The successful candidate will have a line management relationship into Senior Procurement Specialist and onward to the Procurement Leadership Team.
