We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic midwives to join the community team in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will have an excellent clinical knowledge base, high level communication, organisational skills, and excellent time management. You should be passionate about delivering high, quality ante natal, intrapartum and post-natal care, achieving the highest possible patient experience. You will need to be able to demonstrate recent clinical experience, have the requisite level of competencies at band 6 and provide evidence of on-going professional development. NLS, ALSO and NIPE trained would be desirable. Further education is encouraged, including support to attend relevant courses to maintain personal and professional development to meet service needs.

Main duties of the job

The vacancies are in community teams working on a traditional model of ante natal, postnatal care and homebirth with the objective of moving to a Continuity model of care in the future, joining the current continuity teams within Northumbria-Healthcare Trust.

The successful candidate will have the responsibility of planning and delivering the ante natal and post natal care to a caseload of women, in line with Saving babies lives care bundle 2, the maternity transformation programme the opportunity with the ongoing development of continuity of care models to deliver the Better Births vision. There are opportunities to deliver intrapartum care in the home. The maternity service has a strong public health element which supports breastfeeding, smoking cessation, BAME and encourages active lifestyles for families.

Opportunity to rotate to the birthing centre within the innovative Northumbria specialist emergency care hospital and dedicated time to complete mandatory training.
