Job summary
To provide an efficient, reliable and high-quality cutting for a textile production line.
Your main duties will be to lay and cut fabrics in accordance with the cutting schedule of each order and be able to skillfully use the Eastman cutting machine and on occasions Chickadee knives.
You should have experience in understanding the different fabrics that are used within the business and the shrinkage rates for each to calculate the optimum cutting size per item ensuring the most efficient cut allowing reduction in fabric waste and benchmarks to have the right speed and skills to cut efficiently and accurately.
You must demonstrate the skills in checking fabrics for imperfections during the layering process prior to cutting and be able to communicate and record with the Gatekeeper and Production manager of imperfections.
You will be expected to conduct precision and accurate record keeping and audit fabric stock control for each item that requires cutting allowing raw materials auditing and stock control to be fully up to date at all times.
