Job summary

You will assist the Stroke information co-ordinator and admin assistant in contacting patients and their relatives following a stroke

You will be able to signpost people to local services / give them information to improve their recovery

You may have to visit patients on the in patient rehab wards and their own homes.

You will assist the co-ordinator in the delivery of a pilot Living Well with Stroke Group.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a specialist Stroke Information Service to a trust wide stroke service. The role will offer information and support both in hospital and across a variety of locations around North Tyneside and Northumberland for the benefit of all people affected by stroke and their carers.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships other team members and ensure the availability of stroke information resources across the stroke patient pathway.

Essential

  • The post holder will have an understanding of a range of work procedures and practices, some of which are non-routine, which require a base level of theoretical knowledge. This is normally acquired through vocational formal training; or equivalent experience
  • RSA 3/OCR/NVQ level 3 (or equivalent qualification) or equivalent knowledge acquired through further experience
  • GCSE English Language grade C or above; or evidence of equivalent education
  • IT skills should include the use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel etc)
  • Evidence of continuing professional/personal development

Desirable

  • A recognised counseling qualification
  • ECDL/Advanced ECDL
