Job summary
NHS Payroll Services is responsible for the pensions administration of over 110,000 NHS employees each period. Applications are invited to join a team of pension professionals based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Main duties of the job
- The calculation and supply of estimates of retirement benefits to current NHS Pension scheme members and Clients including costs to the Client where applicable. Participation in the manual calculation and checking of benefit estimates, for the purposes of organisational decision making, when required.
- Provision of accurate financial information to NHS Pensions by calculation of "final pensionable pay" from which pension benefit values are derived for retirements, pension sharing on divorce and transfers out of the scheme.
- Assist with the provision of calculations to all Clients for inclusion in the final accounts in accordance with the Greenbury requirements.
- Notification to the appropriate Payroll Officer of any action necessary to correct errors or prevent further anomalies arising.
- Assisting with the provision of concise and accurate information and/or clarification of Pension Regulations and procedures on enquiry.
- Manage their electronic mailbox with enquiries from NHS Pension, Alternative Pension schemes, Employees and Clients and ensure these are responded to in a timely manner.
