Job summary
A full and part time vacancy has arisen for Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners (ODP) to join our anaesthetic team within the Elective Theatre department at North Tyneside General Hospital.
Previous theatre experience would be an advantage, however a comprehensive training package is in place for newly qualified staff, or those new to the theatre environment.
The successful candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic and committed to delivering safe, high quality care. North Tyneside General Hospital is a unique hospital, with ongoing high levels of excellent patient experience and care. Informal visits are highly recommended.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering excellent standards of care and providing patient support throughout the peri-operative phase, advocating on behalf of the dependent patient.
- Assisting the anaesthetic Doctor during surgery and assisting the theatre team throughout the day. Ensuring safe environment and practice is maintained.
- Working with, and supporting other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Preparation and monitoring of the environment of care, and equipment.
- Supervising junior colleagues, including unregistered staff and students.
