Job summary

Reporting to the Group Sales and Business Development Director (GSBDD), the Sales Support Manager's (SSM) primary role is to help ensure the continued growth and success of Northumbria Healthcare Group's non-core revenue services. This comprises salary sacrifice schemes, factory produced goods, eco-waste management services and other exciting initiatives.

The SSM will support the signing of client organisations who are new to the Trust, as well as cross-selling activity for additional services to existing clients.

Main duties of the job

  • The day to day management responsibility for the operational/administrative elements of managing relationships with prospective clients
  • Support the Group Sales and Business Development Director with the management of all prospect requirements
  • Manage the support functions of the team, including coaching, mentoring and personal development of self and others
  • Provide the resources and tools needed for the Business Development Team to meet its core objectives

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the creation of all marketing materials and their distribution
  • Represent the Group at promotional events
  • Lead on the inter department relationship management
  • Generate and supply the business development team with timely and accurate reports as required
  • Ensure all actions are logged and completed within the sales and business development Customer Relationship Management system (e.g. Zoho)
  • Work closely with colleagues in other departments to ensure new client organisations are set-up on relevant systems (e.g. Legasys) in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Responsibility for maintaining the CRM system, ensuring it contains accurate details for all clients
  • Instigate, develop and maintain relationships with senior officers within client organisations
  • Propose changes to and implement the overall strategy of the sales and business development team
  • Measures and review team performance against the business development teams targets
  • The post holder is required to explain and coach the team to understand and deliver potentially complex financial aspects of commercial products and services
  • Responsible for ensuring all invoices for business development related services are paid and raised in accordance with SFIs
  • Carry out appraisals in line with the departmental policy
  • Involved with staff recruitment, training and professional development, discipline and grievances, expenses, holidays, time keeping and allocation of work
