Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 6 Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist who is enthusiastic, skilled, and ready to take on the responsibility and challenges of a senior and innovative position within a busy clinical environment. The post is a full time, permanent post (37.5 hpw) within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust and the post holder will be based at Berwick Infirmary as part of our Joint Musculoskeletal And Pain service (JMAPs).
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be required to work in our busy outpatient department and in the various clinical locations which form part of our JMAP service. This service is an innovative and integrated service for referral, triage and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions from GP surgeries through to Orthopaedic consultants where necessary. The service runs established phone, virtual and face to face patient assessments. JMAPS comprises of Advanced Musculoskeletal Practitioners and Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists working alongside First Contact Practitioners in a partnership with Connect Health. There is also an exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of an orthopaedic Telemedicine clinic.

- To assess, diagnose and treat an independent clinical caseload.
- To work as part of the physiotherapy team under the guidance and support of moreexperienced highly specialist senior physiotherapy staff.
- To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care through one of the following;1) a full range of specialist areas including musculo-skeletal, orthopaedics, elderly care, general medicine, respiratory, neurology, paediatrics, womens health, front of house, surgery and ITU. The rotational element of the role develops individuals specialist skills across a range of therapeutic modalities.OR2) a static post within one of the above sub-specialist teams. This role will incorporateinpatient, outpatient and community activity in both primary and secondary care settings and support the development of specialist skills and knowledge.To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
