Job summary

To be part of the Ophthalmic Imaging team to deliver highly specialised system support across ophthalmic imaging and manage the ophthalmic system support team at Cheltenham, Gloucester and Community hospitals. The post holder will be responsible for managing existing, and assist with implementing new, ophthalmic systems, supervise the local support teams and work to key development strategies and service delivery throughout Ophthalmic Imaging, with expert knowledge, for all staff groups - including Ophthalmic Imagers and the wider Ophthalmic staffing groups.

The post holder must ensure the provision of the technical Ophthalmic Imaging environment is in-line with both the needs across all of our clinical and research areas and in line with trusts digital strategy. They will need to dynamically identify the operational needs in clinical practice and work with the Ophthalmic teams and MDTs to provide responsive support to these needs. The post holder will be required to undertake both routine clinical duties and education/training duties on a regular basis, to ensure the quality of service is maintained and continually understood.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be working within the Gloucestershire Ophthalmic Imaging team based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital NHSFT with some travel across the county on request. The post holder will be responsible for the Ophthalmic Imaging technical estate including - COL, mediSIGHT and system support team - also including administrative duties.
