Job summary
To work as part of the General Outpatients Department [GOPD] team assisting in the delivery of high-quality services. The post-holder works to support the department sisters in all aspects of the role including managing junior staff and physical resources effectively. To ensure day to day running of depts are within Trust policies and procedures with effective staff utilisation supported by Sisters and Managers. To ensure robust reporting and auditing systems are upheld within the dept to ensure service delivery for our patients is paramount. To maintain an allocated link role within the dept to support all aspects of GOPD services provided linking with wider teams as appropriate [e.g. infection control, student mentoring, quality audits]

Main duties of the job
- Staff member acts as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise, managing and delivering individual patient care and coordinating clinic allocations.
- Contribute on a designated, recurrent basis to act as coordinator for clinics.
- The post-holder supports the department sisters in ensuring robust clinical practices amongst all staff are upheld
- To support regular and flexible cross county service provision within our General Outpatient areas to meet patient and service needs
- Staff member proactively promotes staff education and development, ensuring its relevance to the practice area and individual needs.
- Staff member will ensure that the Standard Operating Procedures are followed ensuring achievement of all performance targets.
- Staff member will be involved in quality improvement initiatives.
