We're looking for a Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist to support patients through their initial assessment, diagnostic testing, treatment and follow up for bladder renal, penile and testicular cancers. Main duties of the job

  • Supporting patients with confirmed Bladder, Renal and Testicular Cancers
  • Acts as a source of support and information for patients with confirmed cancer
  • Refer for testing where appropriate as part of surveillance protocols
  • Refer for Senior review where straight to test is not appropriate or there is a change in their condition
  • Share test results patients and explain the next steps of investigation or treatment
  • Undertakes research activities and leads clinical audits in own specialist area.
  • Communicates with a range other staff of all disciplines, acting as a highly specialist resource including liaison with health care providers both within and outside of the Trust regarding diagnosis and treatment advice.

The Urology Team is made of 13 Consultants, 8 Clinical Nurse Specialists and 2 Cancer Support Workers along with a specialist administrative team to support the patient journey and experience. Which has been enhanced by the move to a new Urology Department on Alstone Clinic.
