We currently have vacancies to join our fantastic team as a Senior Radiographer. The post holder will rotate between some community hospitals and the acute sites in Cheltenham and Gloucester. There are 7 community hospitals from Stroud, Dursley, Tetbury, Cirencester to Norths Cotswold, Tewkesbury and Cinderford. The post holder will be required to have transport or be able to get public transport if available to the community sites.

This is an ideal post for those who take real pride in general radiography and the vital role it plays in patient care, and enjoy working either single-handed or as part of a multidisciplinary team. We can offer full or part time hours as well as the opportunity to participate in additional bank in the Acute hospital sites or community sites if desired. Flexibility with working hours may be required.

There has been a number of projects over the last 3 years which has resulted in new state of the art X-ray equipment on the acute and community sites.

We are nearing the end of the project on the Gloucestershire Royal site as part of the Image Guided Interventional Service (IGIS) and fit for the future project.

The community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) opened early this year near Gloucester Quays, offering X-ray, DEXA, Ultrasound, CT and MRI to patients from both city and surrounding areas.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent) and appropriate experience within General Radiography.

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic Radiographers who are passionate about high quality patient care. You will need to have a high level of clinical knowledge to justify requests with strong communication and decision making skills, alongside the ability to prioritise and be flexible in your approach to work. There will be lone working in this role on some community sites. The post holder will also be working closely with students, teaching and assessing.

The post holder will work alongside the band 7 modality leads and key internal and external stakeholders to deliver an efficient, effective service, which includes health and safety monitoring, radiation protection supervisory roles, stock and consumables monitoring and ordering whilst also offering guidance and support to junior colleagues

The Radiology Directorate at GHNHSFT manages services across 10 sites in Gloucestershire including 2 large District General Hospitals. We are the second largest directorate in the South West of England offering a broad range of sub-specialty work including adult and paediatric radiography including trauma and orthopaedic examinations, mobile imaging, general radiography, cardiac and interventional procedures, digital fluoroscopy, CT scanning, MRI and Ultrasound. This is an especially exciting time to join us as the division has recently undergone a refurbishment programme with all modalities benefiting from £6.5m equipment replacement investment including new equipment in the community sites.
