Job responsibilities

The post-holder will be expected to participate fully in the clinical work of the department, providing high standards of care for both in-patients and outpatients.

The responsibility of the hand-over, ward round, in-patient care and clerking of the emergency patients with the support of the on-call registrar and the help of the foundation year trainee, will be the prime job. Safe hand-over of the patients admitted over night or staying over the weekend will be the post-holders responsibility. This will be shared with the foundation year trainee.

The specialty doctor will be expected to help in outpatient activity - although no assigned clinic will be given but after completion of the inpatient activity the SHO will need to part-take in the clinical activity.
