Job summary
The appointee will undertake supervised elective commitments including a weekly session in a new hybrid theatre, which entered service in September 2024, with surgeon-led endovascular aneurysm repair and hybrid peripheral arterial cases. Separate open surgery is also available with open aortic aneurysm repair, carotid surgery and fistulae formation. Day case surgery includes varicose vein surgery, endovenous surgery and fistulae surgery.

Main duties of the job
Other duties shared between all middle grades include a daily ward round for vascular inpatients, attendance at elective clinics, a Vascular Hot Clinic and the option to attend angioplasties. The elective working week will vary depending on the individual requirements of all trainees in the firm and also based on their level of experience.

- At least 24 months' experience (at SHO level) in surgery (not including Foundation modules) by August 2017
