If this is you then an exciting opportunity has arisen on our Elective Orthopaedic Wards (Snowshill & Bibury) at Cheltenham General Hospital. The wards cater for patients who have undergone a variety of orthopaedic surgery and have recently developed a pathway to implement day-case joint replacement.

You will be a part of a highly skilled and motivated multidisciplinary team that includes health Care Assistants, Nurses, Medical and Therapy Staff

Main duties of the job

- To provide a high standard of Nursing Care

- To work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team

- To communicate effectively with patients, carers and relatives

- To take responsibility for your own personal development and support others

- Contribute towards the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the clinical area

- You will be expected to work a range of shifts including days, nights and weekends.

- As a Health care Assistant you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care under the supervision of registered nurses.

- Deliver safe care within a busy and changing clinical environment

-Recording observations and assessments of patients, catheter care.

-To input and retrieve patient information form computer based systems.

- Assisting patients with activities of daily living including personal care, nutritional and dietary support.

- Additional supportive tasks as directed by registered nurses eg venepuncture and ECGs

- To adhere to all trust policies and procedures.
