Welcome to the Post-Graduate Medical Education Department at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).The Secretary to the Director of Medical Education (DME) & PGME Adminstrator Post is pivotal, contributing to the success/expansion/development of the Post-Graduate Medical Education Department at GHNHSFT.
In supporting the Director of Medical Education (DME) the Post-Holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial, administrative and organisational support to the PGME Department. Tolerance, a calm nature, and a sense of humour are essential.
This is an exciting time for Postgraduate Medical Education in Gloucestershire, with Nationally expanding Medical Training Posts, our Enhancing Generalist Skills trailblazer programme, a regional Endoscopy Training Academy and an Education Innovation and Research programme.
Main duties of the job
* The Post-Holder will be responsible, whilst using personal judgment to support the DME and the PGME Department and colleagues.* The Post-Holder to support the Trust Physician Associate Lead with student placements from University of West of England and Worcester University, as required.
* The Post-Holder to be responsible for the administrative and clerical support to the Enhance Pilot at GHNHSFT.
* To act as an interface for all educational enquiries.
* Responsible for managing own workload and working independently, whilst also contributing to the PGME Team. At times you will be required to cover other Medical Educational activity, Educational Events/Study days/covering the office/booking rooms/ordering catering etc.,

The Post-Holder must use their own judgment to deal with enquiries, whatever the nature, recognising where/when appropriate to escalate.
This role requires the need to exhibit consistently stable communication skills, in the virtual, face-to-face and digital forums, whilst also holding the ability to continually demonstrate confident interpersonal skills.
Must be comfortable and confident of working of working without direct supervision.
Delivering on our own Trusts and NHSEs Health and Well-Being Agenda, the Post-Holder having the opportunity to train as a Mental Health First Aider. You should be kind, trust-worthy and exhibit the personal quality of sharing ones own time to support others unconditionally.
Work closely with all Internal and External Stakeholders.
