If this is you then an exciting opportunity has arisen on our Elective Orthopaedic Wards (Snowshill & Bibury wards) and Cheltenham General Hospital. The wards cater for patients who have undergone a variety of orthopaedic surgery and has recently developed a pathway to implement daycases joint replacements.

You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated multidisciplinary team that includes Health Care Assistants, Nurses and therapy staff.

Main duties of the job

- To provide a high standard of nursing care.

- To work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

- To communicate effectively with patients, carers and relatives.

- To take responsibility for personal development and support others.

- Contribute towards the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the clinical area

- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model to less experienced and new staff at all times

- As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care under the supervision of registered nurses

- Deliver safe care within a busy and changing clinical environment.

- Recording of observations and assessments of patients catheter care

- To input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer-based systems.

- Assisting patients with activities of daily living including personal care and nutritional and dietary support

- Additional supportive tasks as directed by registered nurse eg venepuncture and ECGs

-To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct.-
