Job summary
BAND 6 PAEDIATRIC DIETITIAN
An exciting and excellent opportunity has arisen within the Nutrition and Dietetic Department at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic, Band 6 Paediatric dietitian to work within our award winning (Healthcare Team of the Year 2019) paediatric diabetes service and provided dietetic support to inpatients and outpatients across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.
This post would be suitable for an experienced Band 5 dietitian looking to further their career in paediatrics, or a current Band 6 experienced Paediatric Dietitian. You must also have good knowledge in paediatric dietetics and preferably, knowledge of paediatric diabetes as the majority of your clinical role may involve working within this area.
We will support you to achieve appropriate training inc relevant post graduate diabetes training
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a changing environment and have good communication skills and provide evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to this post.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have a varied and challenging caseload requiring excellent interpersonal skills including observation, active listening and excellent verbal communication skills. You will need to work as part of a team and liaise with professionals at all levels, be able to prioritise your workload, be flexible and assertive.
About us
We are a large friendly department based on 2 sites; Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) & Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH).
Within the department at GRH we have a team of adult Renal Dietitians, Acute Dietitians plus a separately funded Home Enteral Feed Team (HEFT). At CGH we have a team of Oncology and Gastroenterology Dietitians plus the Acute team. We also have a Nutrition Team, a Specialist Gastroenterology Team and Specialist Diabetes dietitians working on both hospital sites.
