Job summary
The Postgraduate Medical Education faculty is seeking a new Lead Physician Associate to join the team. The Lead Physician Associate will work collaboratively with the Physician Associate Tutor and the Post-Graduate Medical Education Team to manage and quality control the Physician Associate Undergraduate Programme and the Physician Associate Training Programme for substantive Physician Associate Posts within GHNHSFT.
Key working relationships include those with other Lead Physician Associates within the South-West, the Director of Medical Education, Clinical Tutors, Speciality Directors, Educational and Clinical Supervisors
- The Post-Holder will also be a member of the Medical Education Board.
This is an exciting time for Postgraduate Medical Education in Gloucestershire, with the Enhance Programme, a Regional Endoscopy Training Academy, an Education Innovation and Research programme and Foundation Programme Expansion.

Main duties of the job
- The Post-Holder will provide strong clinical leadership, supervision and guidance to Physician Associates within the Trust.
- The Post-Holder in collaboration with the Trust Physician Associate Tutor, will be responsible for leading and managing the Strategy and Governance for Physician Associates, producing appropriate Frameworks for Physician Associate Practice at GHNHSFT.
- Research and advise Physician Associates on forthcoming Innovation/Quality Improvement Opportunities, Audits, and support all Stakeholders to maximise service benefits.
- Represent and be the pivotal contact point for all Undergraduate and Postgraduate Physician Associates within GHNHSFT, promoting GHNHSFT as a diverse Employer.
- To lead and co-ordinate effective bespoke regular Education Sessions for both Postgraduate and Undergraduate Physician Associates, ensuring a varied clinical programme meeting all educational requirements of all Physician Posts.
