Job summary
This role is all about improvement and development of our Library & Knowledge Service. We already have a fantastic service with an amazing team, but we always want to do better and we are looking for an outgoing, friendly, experienced, qualified librarian who gets a buzz out of taking on challenges which ultimately lead to success.
You will need to be the type of person who enjoys meeting and working with new people, is approachable, friendly and is able to see opportunities and is willing to grasp them.
If you want to feel proud to work for an NHS Library & Knowledge Service and belong to a team that is valued for the work they do, then we could be the team for you.
Main duties of the job
One of the key elements of this role is forging new relationships and engaging with staff to discover their knowledge needs and either creating or tailoring services to meet those needs, so you will either already be confident with this type of work or be willing and able to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
Working with the Library Management Team you will influence the strategic direction of the evidence and knowledge mobilisation services, taking the lead on the implementing improvements with the whole team, so you will need self motivation and enjoy team working.
You will also deliver core evidence services such as complex literature searching, training and knowledge mobilisation activities.
About us
We are a hard working and high performing team; we enjoy constantly improving our service and celebrating our successes. Professional development is therefore essential and everyone is expected to ensure their skills and knowledge are up to date, there will be plenty of development opportunities.
The whole team works flexibly at both Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General, plus some home working, so no two days are the same.
Despite the hard work, we do have a lot of fun and genuinely enjoy working together. We are proud that we are known throughout our Trust as being a kind, approachable and non judgmental team.
