Registered Dental Nurse, Band 4 (30 hours a week)
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who would like to make a difference to outpatient care. This is an excited opportunity for a registered Dental nurse to enhance their skills and gain experience within a hospital setting. OMF OPD provides a vast range of training and learning opportunities to provide excellent patient care. We are keen to recruit a nurse that can uphold the high standards of care we thrive to achieve.
Main duties of the job
The candidate would show excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively within a team, and autonomously. The candidate will need to be approachable, act as a role model and uphold the best standards of care for patients. The candidate will need to show ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations with both patients and staff members. The candidate will need to be responsive to change and assist in the implementation of changes to practice in the team.

We have 18 registered dental nurses, 3 registered nurses, 1 nursing associate, 2 Healthcare assistants, 2 Orthodontics therapists and 1 hygienist. We care for a variety of patients within an outpatients setting.

As a registered Dental Nurse you would be working within a multi-disciplinary team to meet patient needs to ensure the delivery of high nursing care by ensuring appropriate systems and processes are in place to provide the continuity of safe and effective care at all times. This could involve chair side assistance within Orthodontic clinics, extractions and biopsies as well as new patient referrals and follow up appointments. It is essential that you communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary team. Effectively management of own time to manage caseload of patients within a defined scope of practice. Work within professional accountability and standards, ensuring that professional practices are in line with the requirements of the General Dental Council (GDC) and Trust policy.
