Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced nurse to clinically lead our Cancer Service which has taken huge strides in improving the care and support we provide our patients.
The successful candidate would be responsible for strategically leading our large and diverse set of Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist teams across our Trust whilst also delivering exciting cancer care projects in line with regional and national policy.
Main duties of the job
Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence and acts as a professional role model by providing leadership and support within the multidisciplinary and the nursing teams upholding the Trust's core values around the care we deliver
. Provide clear leadership within the Cancer Services helping the team achieve their annual objectives as well as regional and national priorities relating to the NHS Long Term Plan
. To represent the Trust at the ICS level Cancer Clinical Prioritisation Group, regionally at the Somerset Wiltshire Avon Gloucestershire (SWAG) Cancer Alliance and nationally where appropriate
. Ensures that patient pathways are designed and delivered in a seamless way to achieve the highest standards of care
. To participate in the process of the development and implementation of cancer related Trust nursing workforce strategy especially in relation to Cancer Support Workers, CNS's and ANP's in collaboration with Oncology Matron and operational colleagues
. Represent Macmillan Cancer Support internally with the Trust and externally within the ICS and region.

- Work side by side with the AHP Cancer Lead to ensure all aspects of cancer care are resourced and delivering in line with Trust objectives.

- Designated Trust Lead for patient cancer experience and clinical lead for the Personalised Care programme
- Responsible for departmental budgets and physical resources
- Line management of the Information Hub Manager and other personnel as appropriate
- To deputise for the General Manager Cancer Services, where appropriate, at committee level and other internal groups.
