Main duties of the job
With the generous sponsorship from Smith and Nephew, we have developed a fantastic post for an experienced (post CCT ideally or post exam) Trauma Fellow to join our busy department. We are not a Major Trauma Centre but we have a fantastically busy Trauma unit based in Gloucester Royal Hospital. Mr. Christopher Curwen (Fellowship supervisor) and Mr. Daniel Engelke will occupy the successful applicant most of the time. Both are internationally renowned trauma surgeons regularly teaching and presenting at National and International Trauma meetings. The Trauma Fellow timetable is designed to be flexible enough to allow the Fellow to acquire the necessary exposure to all types of trauma and possibly spend more time focusing on their sub-specialist area of interest.
The candidate should have completed their FRCS (TR&Orth) or equivalent.
The post has ample supervised theatre time and potential for further independent operating dependent on the candidate's needs and experience.
