This Business Administration Apprenticeship at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and become part of the Specialty Triumvirate and management team. The apprentice will gain valuable administration experience.
Main duties of the job
We wish to appoint an efficient and committed Apprentice Business Administrator to provide a range of effective administrative support services to the Specialty Triumvirate and management team. The role of the Business Administrator is a pivotal one within the specialty. The post holder to administer, organise, attend and minute meetings as required. The successful applicant will receive induction and training appropriate to the activities he or she will undertake, and following this induction period will be enrolled to the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship with Adult Education in Gloucestershire. The Apprentice will be expected to complete the elements of the apprenticeship within the 18 months' timeframe.

The apprentice will be expected to:
Attend all mandatory components of the Apprenticeship Framework including:
- Corporate induction
- GHNHSFT mandatory training
- Department based vocational assessments
- Progress review meetings
- To undertake training as required and agreed with the mentor, supervisor and external assessor and complete the competencies relevant to the work area/department- To manage and co-ordinate the diaries for the Specialty Triumvirate, as required.
- Pre-empting the needs and requests of the Specialty Triumvirate.
- Book meeting rooms, both internally and externally, and ensure that any equipment and/or catering is provided if required.
- Bring forward documents and papers needed for meeting and devise systems to facilitate recall as necessary.
- Attend other meetings as necessary in order to take minutes for processing and distribution.
- To act as first point of contact for the Specialty Triumvirate; dealing with face-to-face visitors and receiving incoming calls to the office from staff, the public, outside agencies or companies and action as appropriate, professionally and promptly.
- Open mail and take appropriate action using initiative to prioritise issues and respond on behalf of the Specialty Triumvirate.
Undertake any other appropriate duties commensurate with the role, as required at the request of your line manager.
