Job summary

We seek a Senior Support Technician to join our 3rd line IT team. This role will involve supporting the overall direction, development, enhancement and maintenance of the Desktop estate.

You should be able to provide support for the Desktop Infrastructure. The role involves monitoring, maintaining, operating and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems and applications (Windows 10 1809+).

You must be capable using system management tools such as Active Directory, Group Policy and Configuration Manager for Operating System deployments, application deployments and patching. You should be capable of packaging Windows applications for large scale deployments with thorough testing and have good knowledge of scripting via PowerShell, DOS and VBScript.

You will be actively working on 3rd line support incidents providing technical knowledge to resolve and document where appropriate relevant fixes to pass on to 1st and 2nd line support teams.

There will be opportunities to work on projects where you will be typically part of a delivery team to implement solutions.

Main duties of the job

You will be involved with all aspects of Desktop management including assisting in the design and implementation of new operating systems, upgrades, monitoring and troubleshooting.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining Windows Application deployments across a large device estate using tools such as Configuration Manager (SCCM), KACE and Group Policy.

Be part of a team working on technical projects where you will potentially work with a variety of 3rd party suppliers to implement/troubleshoot Windows operating systems and applications.

Provide technical support when required to 1st and 2nd line teams to aid in the resolution of incidents working to relevant SLAs.
