Job summary

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with the Director of Quality and Chief Nurse, the post holder is responsible with the Director of Quality and Chief Nurse for the development of an effective strategy, enabling policies and delivery of the nursing, midwifery and care services.

Embed a strong focus on quality across the organisation, working with the Director of Safety and Medical Director and Quality Improvement and Safety Director to effectively maintain a quality governance infrastructure that improves outcomes, experience and effectiveness.

Be the public face of nursing and midwifery both internally and externally, leading the production and delivery of our nursing and midwifery strategy linked to our journey to outstanding and Nursing and Midwifery Excellence.

Directly manage and provide leadership to corporate nursing services, including adult and child safeguarding, end of life, mental health, harm free and enhanced care, patient experience, chaplaincy and digital transformation.

  • Experience of working in a senior role in a similar healthcare environment, within commissioner, provider (acute) or regulatory organisation
  • Experience of leading a team and delivering excellence through others
  • Advanced change management skills, able to implement and sustain change in

  • Well-developed and extensive senior experience with health and social care
