Main duties of the job
To provide effective and efficient customer service and administrative support to the Medical Staffing recruitment service whilst completing a level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship. Following training, the apprentice will be required to work on their own initiative to ensure effective customer service, administration support and cross cover if required.
The successful applicant will receive Induction and training appropriate to the activities he or she will undertake, and during this induction period will be enrolled to the Advanced (Level 3) Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship with the Training Provider.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience or Aptitude Required
- GCSE Grade C/4 in English & Mathematics or equivalent

Key Result Areas
- To complete honorary & locum contracts including pre-employment checks and maintaining database
- To manage filing of all correspondence relating to medical staff
- Organise mail and messages ensuring these are dealt with efficiently and timely by recording, diverting, tracking and prioritising them.
- To exchange sensitive/contentious information, maintaining confidentiality and using discretion. To negotiate with managers and medical staff to generate information within deadlines and arrange meeting dates.
- To assist and support GP Recruitment pre-employment checks and the on-going administration of their employment.
- To assist and support general Medical Staffing recruitment during periods of high intake of junior doctors during August annually
- Administer and maintain the e-leave system used by Consultants and senior doctors to record annual/study leave and monitor against Trust policy
- Support administration of travel expenses claims
- Deliver a high standard of customer service dealing with visitors and telephone enquiries and when necessary refer them to the appropriate department member
- Provide a high standard of administrative secretarial support, to ensure the efficiency of the Medical Staffing team and other functions as required
- Promote equality at all times and respect privacy and confidentiality, acting appropriately and professionally upon any sensitive information in accordance with Trust policy
- To participate fully in personal appraisal and development review process, continuous professional development and maintain a portfolio
- To be flexible, with the ability to alter activities and priorities as the need arises
